Ruaidhrà completed his BSc and PhD in Biochemistry at University College Cork before moving to the University of Pennsylvania where he spent five years as a post doc and another three as a Senior Research Investigator. He returned to his alma mater briefly before moving to the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation at the University of Glasgow. His research group focuses on the molecular mechanisms controlling innate immune responses that trigger inflammation, with a particular focus on the NF-ĸB transcription factor and more recently the MAPK pathway.
