Jayalini earned her Bachelor’s degree from Cardiff University in Wales before completing an MSc in Health and Clinical Sciences at the University of Surrey in Guildford. During her master’s research, she developed a strong interest in drug resistance and ovarian cancer while investigating the MET receptor. This interest led her to pursue a PhD focused on identifying biomarkers capable of detecting drug‑resistant phenotypes in epithelial ovarian cancer.
After completing her PhD, she worked as a Research Scientist in Gynaecological Oncology at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust in Guildford. She later joined the Â鶹ÊÓƵ as the Roving Postdoctoral Research Scientist.
In her current role, she works across all three research programmes at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ - Epigenetics, Immunology, and Signalling. As the Roving Researcher, she temporarily takes over the projects of scientists on long-term leave (parental, caring responsibilities or sick leave), continuing their research exactly as planned and maintaining momentum in close coordination with them until their return.
